چکیده
The retrospective study was conducted in the Department of Ophthalmology, Nishtar Medical Hospital, and Bakhtawar Amin Trust Hospital from January 2022 to 2023 evaluate risk factors surgical approach for posterior dislocation intraocular lens into vitreous requiring pars plana vitrectomy. A total 30 eyes patients (20 male 10 female) were included study. Standard PPV vitrectomy performed all patients. Iris fixation technique used having a 3-piece design. sclera secure prevent it falling onto retina. IOL (Intra-Ocular Lens) exchanged which previously damaged. Results showed that 28 (93.3%) eyes, original conserved positioned on scleral wall, iris, or both. existing could not be preserved 2(6.6%) eyes. 92.1% cases had single factor dislocation. After surgery, uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) improved 20/400 initial visit 20/80 final (P=0.001). UCVA remained unchanged 3 (10%) 27 (90%) It can concluded incidence has been increasing. Intravitreal substance injections, myopia, previous are major factors. In most cases, secured chamber through

23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy for management of posteriorly dislocated crystalline lens
PURPOSE Management of posteriorly dislocated crystalline lens has traditionally been performed with a standard 20-gauge vitrectomy system. This study demonstrates the use of a 23-gauge vitrectomy system for removal of retained lens fragments secondary to spontaneous dislocation or complicated cataract extraction. METHODS A retrospective, noncomparative, interventional consecutive case series ...

Background. To evaluate visual outcomes, corneal changes, intraocular lens (IOL) stability, and complications after repositioning posteriorly dislocated IOLs and sulcus fixation with polyester sutures. Design. Prospective consecutive case series. Setting. Institut Universitari Barraquer. Participants. 25 eyes of 25 patients with posteriorly dislocated IOL. Methods. The patients underwent 23-gau...
متن کاملCombined 20-gauge and 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy for the management of posteriorly dislocated lens: a case series
OBJECTIVE To present a new surgical approach for the management of posteriorly dislocated lens by using a combination of 20-gauge (20G) and 23-gauge (23G) pars plana vitrectomy. DESIGN An interventional case series METHODS This technique was performed on six patients (five men, one woman; mean age, 66.67 years; range, 66-72 years). Two 23G trans-conjunctival sclerotomy ports were created fo...
متن کاملSclerotomy for pars plana vitrectomy.
Closed vitrectomy has largely supplanted the 'open sky' method, particularly because it results in minimal interference with the integrity of the globe. Ideally the pars plana sclerotomy should be sufficiently watertight to allow the intraocular pressure to be maintained during surgery without impeding free movement of the vitrectomy instrument within the eye. We describe a sclerotomy technique...
متن کاملPars plana vitrectomy versus combined pars plana vitrectomy-scleral buckle for secondary repair of retinal detachment.
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE To investigate the optimal technique for repairing recurrent rhegmatogenous retinal detachments. PATIENTS AND METHODS A 2-year retrospective review of recurrent rhegmatogenous retinal detachments by 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) or combined 23-gauge PPV with encircling scleral buckling was performed. The primary outcome was anatomical success. The secondary out...
